Realization:

The project involved expanding and modernising the existing wastewater treatment plant to address the treatment of sewage coming from Zlaté Moravce and surrounding communities, while also constructing an environmentally-friendly sewage system to serve urban neighbourhoods within Zlaté Moravce as well as the rural area in the direction of Žitavany. Work took place at the WWTP while it was in full operation. A gravity sewer line was constructed with five pumping stations to compensate for the unfavourable terrain and to pump waste water to the nearest gravity sanitary sewer, from where the sewage flows down the existing pipe to Zlaté Moravce WWTP for subsequent conversion to effluent.

Realization:

Expanding the sanitary sewer system and intensifying the Stropkov wastewater treatment plant contributed toward an engineered sewer system for the Bokša neighbourhood of the city as well as toward construction of a system for the villages of Krušinec and Tisinec. The system’s extension mainly involved replacing waste collectors, relieving pressure on the sewers, raising the capacity of public sewer overflow chambers and an overall increase in the capacity of the WWTP for reliable operation, even when there is excessive wastewater. Stropkov WWTP treats municipal water biologically while removing phosphorus and nitrogen.

Realization:

Intensifying and modernising the Petržalka wastewater treatment plant should contribute toward a sanitary sewer system that is being engineered along the part of the Bratislava region lying along the Danube River. Because it involves a comprehensive upgrading of the water treatment plant and all of its technology during routine operation, the WWTP had to be divided into four or more streams and work was carried out while the plant was in operation. Reconstruction involved pre-treatment of raw sewage, mechanical and biological treatment, air blowing system, dosed introduction of chemicals and sludge management. A modern municipal wastewater treatment plant was constructed, using biological treatment and removal of phosphorus and nitrogen, with minimal operating costs.

Realization:

The proposed building is located within the existing Leopoldov WWTP, where the actual wastewater treatment plant had not been in operation. Emphasis was placed on expanding the WWTP and in reconstructing and upgrading it. A new municipal wastewater treatment plant was constructed to treat sewage mechanically and biologically while removing phosphorus and nitrogen. Wastewater is mechanically pre-treated, where pressure from excess rainwater can be relieved (1:4 ratio). Leopoldov WWTP works biologically by actively stabilising sludge aerobically, where the activation level corresponds to upstream denitrification.
